“Good evening, we are from Ukraine”, this phrase is now often heard in Austrian streets. Along with Victoria Hula and Zoryana Nyskohuz, I have the opportunity to study in Austria as part of the cooperation agreement between the Drohobych University (Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Linguistics) and the Private Pedagogical Institute of the Linz Diocese. We meet many students from different parts of the world (South Korea, Spain, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovakia and Hungary) and learn about their culture.

On September 26, an introductory week began; we were told about the university and the advantages of this mobility.

Of course, there were city tours, walks along the Danube and other sights of Linz.

In order to get acquainted with different cultures, in particular the cuisines of the world, the student government organized an international dinner where we presented a truly Ukrainian dish – deruny. Classes started last week, we are willingly attending them trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. In general, we are happy to be here and take on foreign experience; although what we keep in our hearts is Ukraine and our “alma mater”.
