“Greetings from Torun,
I am among the ten Drohobych University students specialising in the Polish language who are currently staying in the cozy town of Toruń. The charming architecture, picturesque scenery, and friendly students from different countries make this place so special to me. I sincerely want to share with you some bright moments that are forever etched in my memory.
I will start by saying that we recently organized in our hostel an interesting, truly unforgettable and “delicious” event called “Cultural dinner”. We had a lot of fun in a friendly atmosphere that allowed us to get to know each other better. Together with the girls, we prepared Ukrainian borsch and dumplings for dinner, talked about Ukrainian customs and traditions, and of course tasted various national dishes of other countries. It was a unique experience for all of us!
The next thing I want to tell you about is a trip to the cinema to watch the famous Polish drama film “Chce się żyć” directed by. Maciej Pieprzyca. The story of the main character Mateusz, who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy by doctors, is so moving and at the same time so motivating. I will say frankly that this film is not for everyone, as it raises the question: “the world of a person with disabilities.” At first glance, he may seem too emotionally complex, but if you dive deeper, it becomes clear that such people are real fighters, they do everything they can, every day for them is a challenge and a struggle!
Actually, this gives an incentive to move forward and overcome all obstacles on your way! When, if not now? Who but me? It is important to set a goal in life and go for it, despite all the difficulties. In my opinion, now more than ever, every Ukrainian should support Ukraine, not be afraid to tell the truth and be proud that we are the nation of the unconquered! Glory to Ukraine!”
