“Greetings from Toruń,
Thanks to Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University I became a participant in academic mobility with the Nicolaus Copernicus University of Toruń within the framework of the Erasmus+ program along with other nine students.
On September 27, our orientation week began, where we got to know the university and program participants from other countries. We were warmly greeted by the organizers of the program, received gifts in a friendly atmosphere followed by various events taking place during this first week. We would have introductory lectures in the morning, whereas in the evenings the university student government would organize a bowling trip, motorcycle speedway, etc., so that we could easily blend into university life here and made friends with everyone.
We had the opportunity to go on a tour of the city, where we saw Nicolaus Copernicus’ house, the famous “Toruńskie Pierniki” gingerbread, walked through the old streets, saw the Vistula panorama and incredible architecture, and also listened to local legends.
This same week, our studies also started, we chose the subjects that we will be studying during this semester, met most of the teachers, and charged ourselves with the desire for new achievements.
I realize that our mission here is not only to study, but also to tell the truth about the situation in Ukraine to other foreign students, because many of them do not know the truth! Of course, this is only the beginning, and more to come.”
