‘Hello everybody! I am a 4th-year student Svitlana Martsyniuk. I am currently studying at the University of Wrocław under the Erasmus + program. This is the end of the first semester of my mobility. I am overwhelmed by the impressions and experience I have gained here!
First, upon arriving in a new environment, I had fear of not knowing what and how it would be. But the girls and I adapted quickly. The University of Wroclaw organized an opening ceremony for new students. We were greeted with an orchestra, songs and smiles. After that, there was a part of familiarization and a buffet table. It was at this ceremony that we got our first experience of communicating with foreigners. Everyone had their own faculty coordinator, to whom we could always turn for help if necessary.
The academic year began on October 6. Each class was different from the other. The teachers really made an effort to make it interesting and fun for the students to learn. I especially liked doing homework, because they were creative and you could show your personality. During the training, we filmed interviews, explored people’s emotions in different situations and discussed films. At the end of each subject, we had a final project that must be prepared in a group on an arbitrary topic, taking into account the specifics of the subject. Group projects are a really good idea, because that’s how you find people with common interests. Here I improved my knowledge and communication skills in Polish and English With our friends, we talked a lot about our countries, their languages and culture. And now they really want to come to Ukraine after the victory!
It is very difficult to part with all the people now, because we are already so used to each other, traveled together, prepared together for classes and just had a great time! But soon the 2nd semester of study will begin, so a new and interesting experience awaits me!
I am sincerely grateful to our university for this opportunity to travel and study in Europe!”
