Before the start of the summer semester, I had the opportunity to attend the Interdisciplinary spring school at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen: Basic principles for peace and sustainable development in Ukraine and beyond. For myself, I chose political education during and after the war. Words can’t describe how interesting and exciting it was!
The spring school was held offline for a week in the German city of Giessen. First, we analyzed the basic concept of peace and education, then we analyzed German history and how the teachers were able to overcome the educational crisis after the war.
The teachers who are currently working with Ukrainian children in German schools came to our classes, together we considered options that would make it easier for children to adapt and study in a new country. We were acting as the “Ministry of Education” and understood how difficult it is for them to determine even the form of education and give other instructions regarding education. We cooperated with the German professors who are ready to help and support Ukrainian education
And the most valuable experience! I am sure that upon completion of the exchange program, I will be able to integrate all knowledge into the Ukrainian education system And now I’m going back to Greifswald to spend my second semester there under the #Erasmus+ program, but more on that later..
